Mel's phone would ping and she'd see Jen's text giving Safi a grin before texting Jen back. "Jen's in."- Okay, cool. No need to bring anything. We were talking about ordering food in. See you soon! -

-=Safi would smile hearing that Jen would be joining them. She was glad she had the time to do so. It'd been to long since all of them had been able to hang out like they used to, but hopefully with the new place they would get to do that a bit more. She'd follow Mel into the building after getting out of the car. Safi would glance around at the very clean apartment as she slipped out of her shoes and put her bag down. Pushing her hands into her back pockets she'd wonder in fairly comfortable in the space as she'd been there several times at this point. =-
Place looks great.
-=She'd grin at Mel playfully. Hearing Mel's question she would shrug and make her way to the kitchen to see what there was to drink.=-
Maybe some chinese?
-=Safi loved take out/ buffet chinese food...she knew it wasn't the best food to have or ... the best chinese food really...but it was yummy and they had the best wings. She however would be open to another idea of course since they were getting food for all three of them. She could eat a lot of chinese food...and then eat it again the next meal so she usually got extras. She would get herself some water and stand next to the sink to drink it. Not so much making herself small and out of the way, but just zoning out for a moment. She'd had, had a week...they all had, it would seem.=-

Jennifer finished up packing away anything glass. It really wasn't much. A set of plates and bowls for up to 6 people she had bought from Ikea when she first moved in. Her glassware and silverware also came from Ikea and all of it packed neatly into one smallish box.
Once taped up and set aside she grab her bag and keys off the kitchen table, almost making it to the door before turning around and grabbing the bottle of Moscato out of the fridge. Might as well take it with her. One last thing to move right?
It would take her around 30-45 minutes to make it to Mel's after she texted, slipping up to her apartment door and knocking with the old 'shave and a haircut' rhythm she always used. Corny and old... she knew... but if it worked why change it.

Mel would laugh a bit when Safi said the place looked great. It was spotless but then again she'd been doing some excessive cleaning.
"Thanks. I told you I've been cleaning."
She grinned. It'd done wonders for her to help keep her mind off of things the past few days. There was so much that had happened in such a short amount of time but that was life she supposed. She grabbed herself some water and stood next to Safi, leaning against the counter. It made her happy that Safi was comfortable here and helped herself to whatever she wanted.
"Ohhhhh Chinese would be good. I haven't had that in awhile."
She clapped a little when there was a knock on the door before practically jogging over to answer it. She'd open the door and grin at Jen.
"Hey! I'm so glad you could join us!"
She'd give Jen a hug before moving out of the way and letting her in. Mel closed the door behind her before heading towards the kitchen.
"We were just talking about what we want to order. Safi suggested Chinese, what do you think?"
Being with her friends really was her happy place.

-=Safi chuckled at the response she knew she'd been cleaning she was perhaps pocking a bit of fun at Mel. Catching the grin she would give a coy shrug and continue on to the kitchen. Standing there with Mel in a comfortable silence for a bit of time. She would look up when the knock on the door happened. Moving to finish her water she'd put her cup on the counter to use again. She didn't like to dirty up more than one thing if she could help it. Moving a couple steps forward she'd wave at Jen happy to see her.=-
Hey!
-=She'd go to hug Jen when they got to the kitchen and then move to give them space while they all talked about food.=-

Mel opened the door and Jen hopped in the door, bottle of wine in hand. Her face would brighten some more as she spotted Safi.
"Heeeeey Ladies!
Mel. Your apartment looks really nice? Not to say it wasn't clean before but... are you expecting company?"
She'd laugh lightly. She'd almost make a Martha joke, but really they all knew Mel wouldn't be cleaning for her. No matter what Martha's opinion was.
"And you know I love Chinese food. But really, I can find something to eat wherever you guys decide. You guys know how I am."
Jen had pretty much already made herself at home, going to the drawer with the wine opener for the bottle and looking through her cabinets to find 3 glasses.

Mel bit her bottom lip and glanced at Safi when Jen commented on the cleanliness of her apartment. She tried to will her cheeks to not flush.
"Heh, yeah, a lot has happened this week so I've been trying to keep myself busy. Do you need help cleaning your place before you move? I'm running out of things to clean here."
She'd laugh a little with a grin - half kidding and half being serious.
"I think it's Chinese then. Order whatever you want ladies."
She pulled out her phone and pulled up the app before handing her phone to Safi first.
"And, thanks for bringing some wine, Jen!"

-=Safi would laugh softly at Jen mentioning how nice Mel's place looked. Grinning a Mel who was blushing. It was a cute reason why Mel's place was looking so nice right now and she couldn't wait for Jen to find out. Safi would take the phone and look over the menu. Ordering a few things before handing it to Jen.
A long week it had been an it wasn't even remotely over yet. She would watch her friends and take a glass of wine when offered. She didn't drink often, but when she did it was usually with friends. She didn't mind the taste so much, but she sometimes thought some wines tasted like olives...which was confusing to her. In her thoughts about wine for a moment she'd kind of make a face which usually meant she was having a conversation in her head ...happened a lot, but while Jen and Mel caught up she was listening but also thinking about somethings. She had...news to tell as well though Jen had asked about the hunt on Monday she'd not wanted to bring down the moment of looking for a house with what actually happened. She supposed she should tell them though.
Her eyes refocusing on her friends as she sipped her drink. She'd wait for an opportune time though.=-

”Oh?”
Jen would blink, looking over at Mel a little wide eyed as she mentioned a lot had happened.
”All good things I hope?”
She’d get the inclination it wasn’t anything truly serious based on Mel’s blush and Safi’s giggle. That was a relief but now she really wanted to know and Mel seemed to be changing the subject.
”I absolutely could use a hand cleaning the apartment. In fact, that might be something you and I could do after all of my stuff is out. It would be easier to do a deep scrub. I think it’s the only way I’ll get my deposit back too.”
She’d twist her face a bit in thought on that last comment but quickly turn her attention back to Mel, shooting Safi a quick glance in between.
”So. What happened this week?”
Jen would ask as she slid up to Safi, taking the phone from her hand and putting in her order.

Mel would take a sip of wine feeling her cheeks starting to get hot again as Jen asked about what happened.
"It's a mixed bag..... Kai avoiding me escalated and now we're definitely not speaking so Saturday may be a little awkward. I'll definitely be squirreling myself away as I work on putting furniture together.....but..."
That stupid grin would appear as she moved to the good part of the week.
"Long story short, Landyn and I have a date on Monday."
She'd shift a little as she stood there with two of her best friends. She was feeling giddy again. And that feeling tended to knock out the bad feelings, at least for a bit.
"And I will help you clean your place. We definitely want you to get your deposit back."
She'd chuckle a bit and shake her head. What a week.

-=Safi would bump Jen with her hip playfully and let her have the phone to add to the order. Her eyes looking to Mel to see what all she was going to tell Jen about what happened with her this week. She'd grin behind her wine glass watching Mel...Safi kind of wanted to blurt out that Mel had slept with Landyn, but she didn't but she was so excited for her friend she would glance at Jen knowingly and then sip her wine quietly seeing what she thought about Mel having an actual date with someone as they both knew that wasn't a thing that usually happened either.
Her eyes moved from Jen to Mel as this information was now with all of them. Waiting to see if Jen would ask the same question Safi did or not. Which was had she slept with Landyn? Which would make the date all the more impressive.=-

Jen grinned and returned Safi's hip bump as she took the phone from her. A little absent mindedly she would listen to Mel as she typed in her order, nodding as one does when they're trying to do two things at one time.
"Well. That sucks. I hope it's not too awkward for you and Kai but... you two have been friends for a long time so I'm sure it'll work out. And you have a date with Landyn....."
She'd finish her order and start to hand Mel her phone back but paused, blinking a couple of times as she realized what she had just said.
"Wait. You have a date. A date with Landyn. As in Kai's roommate Landyn? And like... an actual... date... date."
You could see Jen's wheels turning in her brain and she'd glance in Safi's direction, catching the smile she tried to hide behind her wine glass. Date wasn't a term Mel usually threw out. Going out with a guy meant something different than dating when it came to Mel. It also might mean something else with how sudden this came about and why Kai would be mad at her.
"So did you two... or have you two... you know. Do it?" She'd laugh a little awkwardly. Not unusual for Jen. She was always awkward about the subject of sex. She guessed it was just ingrained in her that it was taboo and impolite to talk about but really... it was mostly inexperience.

Mel, who wasn't shy when it came to the subject of sex, would turn beet red. She'd shoot Safi a glance before looking back to Jen and nodded slowly as she bit her bottom lip. She grinned as she looked down into her wine glass for a minute before taking a sip. She sat the glass down on the island before hopping up to sit on the counter. Her legs swung a bit as she pressed the palm of her hands into the cool of the counter top. Her fingers gripping the edge.
"Yes to all of the above?" Mel laughed. "Yeah, a date and yeah, we did. We're going to the beach after I'm done with class for the day. This week's been a whirlwind.."
Her grin widened a bit and she released one hand from the counter to pick up her wine glass again before continuing.
"But I'm really excited about the date. I can't explain it and I feel crazy but we just...I don't know...we just connected? I really like him, Jen. Like, I've never felt anything remotely close to this before...and it's weird. I don't hate it but I'd be lying if I said it isn't terrifying me."
She laughed and shook her head a bit.
"But that's part of why I've been on a crazy cleaning spree. If I keep busy then I stay out of my head. I'm trying not to overthink things."

-=Safi would be the only one of the three not blushing at the idea of sex. She had her reasons and not because she'd had an abundance of it. She could talk about sex and related topics easily. Especially with her friends if they were open to discussing things. That was growing up with unfettered access to the internet during her early devolopmental years as a pre teen on up. Now she knew a lot and talked about it often depending on who she was with, but only if they seemed interested.
Safi would grin seeing Jen finally realizing what Mel had said and what she'd mindlessly repeated. Giving Jen a nod to confirm that Mel was indeed going on a date with Kai's roommate. The very same roommate that was coming to help out on Saturday at that. Jen asking the same question Safi had she'd watch Mel explain and sip her wine quietly. It was fun this part of life. Watching Jen take it all in and listening to it again. =-
I'm sayin this is the least crazy thing in your life...like...it's pretty normal really.
-=Going on a date with a boy you like. Normal as ever, but not so much for Mel...really not for Safi either but she didn't think it odd for her friends to find people they would like. It was bound to happen eventually and she was happy for them.=-

Jen grinned, brining her fingers to her lips. She could absolutely relate. This week had been a whirlwind for her as well. It had really been only a little over a week since she met Michael upon the strangest of circumstances. Not to mention the other strange things that had happened since. Things she had only briefly mentioned to Safi.
"To the beach? That sounds like a fun time."
She'd glance over in Safi's direction as she mentioned this was normal. It was true, all of this should be pretty normal. But who really defines normal.
"She's right. Dating and being with someone you like. Should be pretty normal." She'd look back to Safi, giving her a bit of a knowing look. Should be pretty normal for her too. But she at least understood why Mel was terrified. For her it meant she had to be vulnerable and not in control. To maybe even worry about what someone else thinks of her. Jen had never quite understood that feeling. She had lived pretty much her whole life worrying about what others thought of her. Except with her friends of course. All she ever had was unconditional support.
