Lilith's cool gaze moved off of Sera as she teleported away. She'd sigh. The Darkling Fae knew that as a Mother, as a soon to be Grandmother, she should be dropping everything to go help her Daughter. The knowledge that she should be there, offering comfort, offering solutions and assistance was a nagging blip in her brain. But there was no emotional response there to force her off of her current duty. Seraphina was an adult, had already lived many human lifetimes, and a Mother to be. Actions have consequence, both good and bad. She trusted Sera to figure that out.
Green eyes would turn back to Morsus and Mia then, watching as the golden girl dropped the heart to the ground without a care, wiping the blood from her hands and onto her pants. The sound of Morsus' teeth grinding could be heard even at that distance.
"Follow me then." She'd take the long way around, not making them bound over rooftops again but still not wanting either of them in the Grand Hall. They'd pass by ornate buildings until the path led them past them all. Just out of the way, but before the trail began it's descent into the valley below, was a shop that wouldn't look like any of the others. Modern, futuristic, with sliding doors and bioscanners for entry. She had already asked them not to touch anything.
Once inside she'd lead them down a set of stairs to the portal room where a barely furred, but still not a cat, attempted to roll his entire body across the focus crystal. She'd note the bite marks and the drool.
"Warming the system up I see?" She'd state, reaching over to give the cat a scratch behind the ears before moving over to the console. She'd begin by pulling up the last known coordinates since it had connected once already to Denir.
"Ready cat? Do you have your questions ready?"

Balthaxar made a sound that almost sounded like purring, but a bit more alien.
He looked up at Lilith sleepily and murmured a quick spell. "Bibbity bobbity boo, and all that crap."
A muffled dot matrix printer sound could be heard, and a single sheet of form paper manifested from seemingly nowhere. The stationary fell from the ceiling and drifted down to slide under Lilith's shoe. It even had the edging strips on the sides.
It read:
1. Why Are We Doing This?
2. What sentient species are native to Mortis and what are some customs we should know about?
3. Where is the most likely planet/system Tres McCarrion was last detected?
4. What part of the Mortis galaxy are we traveling to?
5. Who is in charge, and how do they operate in their domain?
6. How should we prepare to counter any potential threats?
7. What is the Timetable?
8. What resources will we have once we arrive, and more importantly, what kind of fish can be found?
9. What is our escape/retreat plan if Plan A doesn't work?
Balty stretched, his paws extending outwards, claws out. He slid out of the jewel chamber, gently closing the door with his paw. Then he trotted behind Lilith.
"I got my nap in, so I can be ready. Sure. Why not? Lets do this."

The portal would open and Lilith would lead them through. The place they entered was bright with a fake sun shining down upon them, and upon first glance appeared to be an abandoned, yet well preserved city half buried in golden sands. Their appearances would return back to normal, though Mia would still find herself disconnected from her Bioempathy. Not that she needed it here as all was silent save for their own footsteps and the sounds of falling sand.
Mia leaned down, raking her fingers through the delicate material, rolling it around in her palm before letting it drop back to the ground. She'd sniff it, and smelled nothing, though she didn't really know what she expected. She rolled the bits left in her palm around in her fingertips as she slowly stood, her face taking on a calm almost studious expression until she caught the gaze of Balty. Upon which her usual sarcastic smile would slip across her face.
"This is what happens to all those packets when you throw them away. Should a cat be in here? He might be tempted to eat this without a warning label you know."
What was left in her palm she'd toss almost playfully at Morsus. It may not be sand but it brought back memories of when she found him. Living alone and wild in the desert. Their connection had been almost instantaneous and for the longest time, they were each other's life line.
Lilith would leave them be and just continue walking. She and Charion had unlocked the city and all of it's traps and mazes the last time they were here. Should they linger out of sight she was certain they could catch up quickly enough.
The Grand Library would be located in the very center of the circular city. Lilith, Balthaxar, and the twins would eventually all find themselves in the same location, a large room with shelves and shelves of books that seemed to go on forever. In the very center would be a lounge area with wooden desks, rolling chairs, and leather sofas. In one of the many high back leather chairs sat what appeared to be an elf. One of the avatars of Illyana sat, legs tucked up underneath her, hair pinned up into a messy bun atop her head, reading glasses sitting halfway down her nose. A long ear would flick as company approached and briefly dull grey eyes would look up from the book she was reading. She had lost track of the last time the McCarrion children were here. They had taken the Grimalkin with them and left her as the only living thing in this entire city. It didn't matter anyway. She'd quietly turn her attention back to the book she was reading. Leaving them to whatever they were in search of.

Balthaxar trotted through the portal behind Lilith, and scratched around in a pile of the sand nearby as Mia quipped. His brow furrowed as questions filled his head rapidly she would hear them all consecutively as he projected them with a toothy grin.
She knows that this is silicon... the element, not the compound of silica, doesn't she? She knows I'm not a cat, right? What cats eat the silica packets she's referring to? They sound cool. What realm are they from? How can in touch with those weirdos? Do I smell fish? It was my own breath. Does anyone have a breath mint? Does she think I eat sand? Why would I eat sand? Does regular sand taste good? Does she know what I DO in the sand? Does Mia drink toilet water regularly? Would I be surprised if she did? I wonder what Charion is doing? Did Mia learn about cats from Charion?
He didn't speak a word as he followed them into the main hall of the library. He knew this would be annoying enough.

Gone. Seraphina had waited until she felt the presences of Lilith, Morsus, and Mia leaving Oghma. They hadn't truly, seeing as Deneir was located within a ring stored within a box and locked away in Lilith's office. But they were at least out of touch with this plane. She'd exit the cottage, the pearlescent orb in her hands. She'd walk as briskly as she was able, holding the orb out in her right hand and to her side. Much like with the ring, the spectral figure of the deceased Nathan would appear and walk beside her.
She'd smile, glancing over in his direction before glancing back to the path in front of her. It was difficult, the memories this scene brought back. Of what was done and what was said at that time. This wasn't her Nathan, but the visage was enough.
"Apologies. We were interrupted. Forgive me, Love. I will release you to travel on to wherever you are meant to be." Her voice would catch in her throat a moment and she'd swallow back the unease. "Time is limited. If you would be so kind as to tell me what you were going to tell me earlier? Who you were talking to and what were you talking about? You were saying something about me dying?"
Nathan would have as much time as it would take for them to walk all the way down the cliffs where Illyana had designed the homes and buildings into the valley below. Illyana's sanctuary where her original body still lay peaceful and still. Still alive technically, will all her power still contained within. Sera would have no trouble passing through to the inner workings of the building and since Nathan was incorporeal, neither would he.
Sera stood a moment, bathed in the warmth of her Grandmother's magics. She'd close her eyes and hold the orb to her chest. It was refreshing and in this moment, she'd do something she never thought she would.
Her left hand would sweep gently to her side, rising to swirl the air beside her. Strings of magic would appear and begin to swirl like a small cyclone of light above her hand, the source of the power coming from the unconscious form of Illyana herself. Was this not what her Grandmother was teaching her to do all this time? To wield her power should she fall? Someone to maintain the order of the universe and the realm of Oghma. The knowledge she had gained when becoming Arbiter had assisted with this ascension but she had no intention of taking it all. No. She would borrow what she needed, for what better way to approach a group of Gods in search of answers than to appear as one herself.

Nathan would blink at the fact that he was standing there. Relieved at what must have been a vision of the future and not what had transpired, he reached out to touch Seraphina on the shoulder to stop her from walking. As his fingers passed through her, he realized that it was not a vision, and that his life had been the dream. He was dead, killed by the brother in this world that he had killed in his original. He supposed there was a balance to it - a karma of a sort. He stepped lively, then, following the woman who had laughed at him so dispassionately. She was definitely not his Seraphina. His wife was gentle and kind with no trace of cruelty - an avatar of life and creation who made entire worlds for the beauty of it. But now was not the time to dwell.
"I shall try to offer answers in the time we have - I only hope you keep your word and release me. I wish to be with my wife again, and I only hope that my soul will traverse to its plane of origin, that I will not be trapped in an afterlife without her. I was speaking to Ahanna - my Aunt. She was urging me to discuss things with you. Did you know that she cannot possess you? It would seem that she has been trying to monitor your pregnancy because your children are the first Sunelves to be born in centuries. Well, part-sunelves, anyway. What I was attempting to tell you is that those of Sunelf lineage struggle greatly in childbirth. As you may know, Sunelves are only able to bear one child - but do you know the reason why? It is because the child feeds off the soul of its parent. If a sunelf bears a child, part of their soul is consumed. It causes no detriment to the parent, as dropping an acorn does not cause harm to the tree, and just so the seed planted becomes its own soul. Given enough time, the parent's soul can regenerate the loss, as with the oak tree who replenishes acorns - but a pureblood Solavi Sunelf does not live that long. Hence Nihilano could bear more children given he has left Solavi and has not had his life shortened by the intense radiation there. He feeds off the dispersement through the universe - he does not stand on the battery, as it were, but absorbs the light of the flashlight. Your husband, like myself, was constructed - not born. A mix of science and magic in the perfect incubator of an olde god who could sustain it. But you, like my wife, are having twins naturally. This means both are consuming your soul in equal parts. If brought to term without intervention, your soul will die. I see the ring on your finger - Nihilano must have known this. He has drained soul energy of his own slowly into it over centuries. Think of it as a backup battery - he is giving part of his life force to your children to slow the decay. My Nihilano refused to part with his, stating that Seraphina was not of royal birth and unworthy of the children she bore if she could not survive it. I see yours has a softer side...he must really favor you. With the time we had and the accelerated consumption, my Seraphina passed before we could save her. With Illyana in slumber, my Seraphina had not received the teaching to command her magicks sufficiently to stem her loss. Our daughters starved in her womb and she passed. Seeing you here and with children, I seek to prevent you from such loss, though I am afraid I know not how."
*~*~*~*
Morsus would follow after the troop silently. He still had no idea why they were here or how this would help them find Deux. Or Tres. Or whatever. This was boring. Libraries sucked. And oh great, there was another of those same weird elf ladies hanging around this place too. How many of them were there? Maybe he should thin the herd. Or maybe he should kick that annoying cat thing. He should have brought liverwurst. Maybe that would shut him up. And did he have silicon in his butt crack? He likely had silicon in his butt crack.
"Sis. This place sucks. I'm bored. What are we doing again? I wasn't paying attention. And I think I have sil-whatever in my butt crack. Should we kill that elf lady over there? I think she's making judgy eyes at me. HEY LILLITH! SHOULD I KILL THAT CHICK OVER THERE OR IS SHE OFF LIMITS?"

"I see..." She quietly muttered as this Nathan explained.
"I did not know Ahanna was attempting to contact me. Though, I had met her briefly in person not terribly long before you had arrived. I will attempt to remedy this. Thank you."
Ahanna could have said something then. Or contacted her in another fashion besides possession. Though she'd forgive Nathan's Aunt. She had not been out of isolation long and likely hadn't familiarized herself with other ways. Or perhaps her haughty side simply refused to learn something new. It didn't matter either way she supposed. She idly fiddled with Atreyu's ring in the palm of her hand. Ahanna had suggested she wear it as well. Perhaps this was also why. She'd slip it on a finger on the opposite hand and just await the effects, she had confidence being currently bathed in the power of the Goddess that lay before her, she would be protected.
"I am sorry for my reaction earlier. It was not that I did not believe you. I am simply.... overwhelmed with emotions at the moment." She'd steal a glance in his direction but would be hesitant to look at him directly. As if doing so caused her pain. "If I could have your thoughts before I release you. My children need energy from souls while in the womb. At current it is mine and Sunfire's doing so. Sunfire, Nihilano, may not be your Father but he is still blood relation. Would you think it needs to be only family, Solavi, or maybe anyone could contribute?"

Balthaxar had padded ahead, and instinctively curled in the avatar's lap. He made a strange purring sound that reverberated through the room.
"I hope you didn't get bored without me. Lilith needs your help finding Tres, and you need to play nice for a bit ok? She has a few questions about the realm known as Mortis, and I figured you'd be the only one who's even heard of the place besides Rift. Would you at least help her narrow down where he's at- for me?"
He headbutted her forehead gently.
"Then we'll leave you alone. If you want us to."

Lilith glanced in Morsus' direction.
"She is off limits..."
Mia walked up behind Morsus, reaching out with her hand to grab hold of his back pocket. She'd give his pants a shake, watching as the sand like substance tumbled out.
"Yup. That's definitely in your butt crack."
She'd snicker and walk towards a rack of books that stretched all the way up towards the very tall ceiling.
"I think we're supposed to be here doing reconnaissance. Not how I would start off but seeing as we're going off planet, maybe not a terrible idea."
She'd run her finger along the spine of an old leather bound book and wonder what her Dad would think of this place. He'd likely cry and then they wouldn't see him for years. He'd have to come out some time though, considering there was no natural sunlight here.
"What's this?" She'd slide a book off the shelf and begin flipping through pages that had picture upon hand drawn picture of various dragons. Some of them got pretty medical. Some of them got really medical. Eyes would widen as she stopped on a certain page, an indistinguishable look of either interest or horror crossing over her face as she got to the part that talked about male genitalia.
"Oh Gods.... How big is this?"
The Avatar would look back up as Morsus asked if he could kill her. Her dispassionate face took on a thoughtful look for a moment as if considering his words before once more returning to her book. It wouldn't be long though before that would be interrupted. The cat would jump upon her lap and as cats do often do, decide to make himself comfortable on the book that she was trying to read. She'd release an annoyed huff and yet she would make no moves to remove the purring beastie from her lap.
"Did I not say I would not help the McCarrion children? And you, Greymalkin, seem to have forgotten my purpose. I am not the Librarian or caretaker of this place, I exist only to be a vessel for a God. A task that seems to have been forgotten about."
She'd reach over and rap her knuckles against the wooden handle of the chair, only to return back to pet the cat in her lap.
"Does your group not know how to use a card catalogue? A dewey decimal symbol?"
She'd speak without her usual accent. Something that still did not sound correct to Lilith, almost as if it were a different voice altogether. She would take no offence, only stand back and watch as Balthaxar spoke.
A fuzzy forehead would connect with hers and she'd sigh.
"Seeing as you have no fingers I would recommend looking first by galaxy. As subject matter such as that would be arranged in such a way."

Balty was purring. He just didn't care.
"You know this place better than anyone, whatever you want to call yourself, weirdo. Its just that Lilith is only one person, The kids don't strike me as 'readers', and most importantly...mmmerrrrrrrrr" His eyes closed as he got head scritches.
The Greymalkin opened a single eye. "I don't seem to have thumbs, either."
He gave a toothy smirk as the avatar petted him, he didn't really know what a Doobie Decibel Symbol was, or what cards needed to be cataloged.
"You might not have known this, but I've read a quite a lot of books myself, but it takes a lot more time for me to handle them, and that's if I care and haven't been rooting in whatever filth I find myself in at any given time. It's a real pain in the ass running around on all fours all the time that low to the ground, so my paws get filthy. I jump up on furniture for that reason, and everybody gets all in a huff when the not cat is up on the center island. Geez. I don't want to come off as useless, but at the same time... I have my limits."
Balthaxar began "making biscuits" on a nearby throw pillow. "Not that you probably ever noticed if I cracked a book open before, but Rift also taught me how to read in a few languages."
he sighed.
"For what it's worth, thanks. Galaxy, hm... I only know we are going to the realm of Mortis, probably in the Horuset system, to a planet located across the galaxy from Koros Major.... Wwwwwwwwwwhere am I gleaming that information from?"
Balty blinked a few times, as if he had pulled the information from nowhere. "I don't even know those words."

The Avatar's ears would perk up as Balty started rambling off words.
"You see. You did not need me as you thought you did. But I suppose you are welcome."
She would continue to scratch the cat atop his head.
Lilith had heard all she needed to. She of course had read her Father's travel guide. Had listened to his stories from his own mouth. She had known of Mortis and knew the teleporter had memory settings that would take them there. But besides his stories she wasn't as familiar with the terrain as if she had been there herself. She also knew her Father liked to rename things other than what the locals called it.
Lilith had heard enough. She'd turn, moving to the nearest terminal to pull up data on the Horuset system and a map of the library with the location of the material. It also seemed most of the data about this system and it's singluar planet, was stored electronically. That query would be left running in the background.
The library was huge, and instead of taking the stairs the Darkling Fae would instead choose to levitate herself up to the area. A wave of her hand and titles upon spines would glow. Jade green eyes would glance through the illuminated books before making a gathering motion with her hand. Everything she held an interest in would pull its self from the shelves and begin to float her way. More waves of her hand and the books would open, pages would flip without her touching them as if they were listening to her silent commands and providing her answers to her questions themselves. Quietly she'd focus on a singular book, placing her hand upon it's open pages and closing her eyes. When she was done she'd nod, wave that the majority of the books she had pulled could go back to the shelf while the 3 she kept levitated back down to the gathering area with her.
She'd speak as she hovered the books over to an empty table. Speaking loud enough for all to hear, including the twins.
"Mortis, as my Father called it, is a large realm consisting of many galaxies and planets. The majority of which are in control by a system of government known as the Galactic Empire. Assuming Balthaxar's premonition is correct we will find Tres upon Moraband, the sole planet located within the outer rim of the Horuset system across from the galaxy Koros Major.
This is a harsh landscape that has been devastated by many wars. The atmosphere is breathable and the climate is hot. It is mostly red sand and mountains. It contains many ruins from the former inhabitants of this planet, the Sith. Tombs and temples can be found buried all over the area.
Here are three books, but most of the information is stored electronically. The libraries resources contain a collection of data points and holocron entries."
If possible, Mia's eyes had gone even wider, her jaw slack. She had turned from her book to just stare and blink at Lilith, her brain unable to comprehend what she was hearing.
"W... wait. Moraband. Also known as Korriban. Final resting place of Darth Bane, founder of the rule of two? It's fucking REAL???!!!!"

Morsus would huff at the abrasive butt cheeks. He'd lean against the bookshelf quietly, regarding the Yana with pure disinterest and boredom. When Mia felt shocked by the book she had, he glanced over, shrugging.
"I've seen bigger. Just because Julio is hung like a cocktail weenie doesn't mean you need dragon envy....though even I might kiss that man for a plate of his quesavirrias. His consume is the best! Great...now I'm hungry."
He would turn to check out the books, selecting one and opening it up. It was and an interesting shade of black leather with strange etchings in it. It outlined some kind of necromantic ritual. Trying to figure out the strange language, he muttered to himself.
"Klaatu...Verata...Nikto? Seriously, who writes this stuff?
He'd close the book and replace it as his sister went full gaga over stellar geography.
"You serious? Everyone knows Lucas was a member of the Gray Order. You think he made that crap up? Man has zero creativity. He just wrote down what happened before he bolted here to avoid Order 66. Wait...what am I talking about? I'm so lost. I need a taco before I start spouting more nonsense..."

Balty stretched and padded over to Lilith, as his tail wrapped around her leg he would watch the sibling's antics. He smirked as Morsus casually tossed Rift's handmade copy of the Necronomicon on a random shelf. He had been one syllable off from summoning the Evil Dead. That would have not been fun for him. The infernal feline's tail swished, as an equivalent to a shrug.
He would nod in agreement as Lilith explained Rift's research on Mortis.
"What happened there just now was seriously weird. That information bubbled out of me like a memory from a past life," He looked up at her with very large eyes. "Hah ah hahhha ... I think I might know what happened." He jumped up on one of the shelves and began weaving along the edge next to the books. He would pause to acknowledge Mia's disbelief of the existence of the realm.
“Crazy thing is… I've heard about it too. It's true, all of it, the Force, the Jedi, it's all true.”
He chuckled and began to walk in his own sand footprints the higher up he got. The Greymalkin jumped on one of Lilith's levitating books and made his way to the top of the shelves as the fine micro-sand fell from the surfaces. The sand was everywhere, it did not stick to skin, leather, metal, or paper, but it seemed to trickle down and pile up until something ran into it at all times. The substance worked as home brewed preservation method for ancient tomes and irreplaceable books. It was apparent that most of Rift's common knowledge was contained in Victoria's database, but special care was taken to keep these fragile texts magically intact. He peered down to Lilith with a toothy smirk.
"Your old man was really one hell of an engineer. I think this might have something to do with the cybernetics implant he gave me to restrain my urge to flay everyone alive. (Um... long story) Uh... so, remaining in that vein of thought, I have a theory I'd like to test. I have no idea if it will work or not."
He sat on the top of the shelf and glanced over to a sign that stated "Forbidden spell books have been translated - handle with care" - mgmt.
"Lilith, think about Charion and Tres.... and your parents for a bit. Then ask me where your family members are."

Mia stopped what she was doing as soon as Morsus uttered those fateful words. It was almost as if she were holding her breath, but when the manifestations of evil spirits did not arrive she wasn't sure if she was disappointed or relieved. Instead she'd scoff, playing it off as neither and just giving her brother a shove.
"Oh get off my ass. Like you knew any of this stuff either. And if you want a taco hands off Julio. You got your own little Drow taco to munch on."
She'd wink with a snicker, making a rude gesture with her fingers and tongue before stopping as a cat thing hopped in front of her view.
"Heh. Whatever kitten. I'm just ready to jump worlds and see for myself."
Lilith would watch the siblings with a shake of her head, already beginning to regret offering to let Morsus bring someone along. But if she could survive the idiocrasy then their abilities would be useful.
She too would turn her attention back to Balthaxar as he hopped along her books, his tail twitching with excitement as the epiphany struck him. Think of her family? She wondered what he had in mind that she hadn't already tried.
"Very well." Lilith would tilt her head to the side, ebony tresses falling gently off of her shoulder in such a simple movement. She could picture them easily, and project the memories directly into the feline's mind should it be needed, but that wasn't what he asked of her.
"Where are the locations of my blood relatives?"

Balty's eyes turned white and cloudy.
"Charion is sitting comfortably on a couch in the Shadowstar Estate in Terra. She is being comforted by Malcolm and one of her mother's avatars."
"Illyana.. .... is scattered ...." he hissed.
"Alpha and Zeta remain in Terra with Charion."
"Delta of the seventh circle - Tír nAill and Kappa of Malfeas do not draw breath, yet still exist."
"Epsilon is in a realm known as Istishia... she is ... fighting undead and on the move."
Balthaxar's nose began bleeding and his head seemed to throb.
"Eta has an anti-scrying spell active, so I cannot see her exact location currently."
"Iota is here, ignoring us in the other room."
"Theta is teleporting between realms... I cannot see where just yet. Try again later."
"Beta has returned to Chardra for the moment, and seems to be exploring an abandoned Fae Castle."
"Omega..... says she will hurt me if I say where she is. I mustn't."
The cat-not-cat's spine arched, and if he had fur, it would stand on end. He had continued deeper into his trance.
"Tres is aboard an- ....Empire ship named the Horizon Eclipse in the realm of Mortis...travelling in... hyperspace."
"Illearas the younger, Nox and Lux sleep in their cribs...(your sibling triplets you never knew) have ceased to exist in the physical plane, but they could be found in the underworld if one were inclined to seek them out."
"You already know exactly where your children and grandchildren are, Lilith."
"Caliban........ is riding a customized motorbike into an ice hurricane in Meridian."
"Rift is... he hissed and growled as the dark fae magic swirled around him like violent stardust. "Rift is in Loviatar...no... Rift is in Gaia, NO, RIFT IS IN HELL! RIFT is aboard the World's Edge! No, Rift sleeps in a pyramid chamber outside of time and space. He's alive. No he's dead. No, He's a machine! No he's undead? He is nowhere!!!!"
Balty screeched and went limp. As he passed out on the bookshelf a cloud of sand billowed from the top.
