It’d been a fairly normal day at the bookstore/cafe and they were coming up on the closing hour. Few people remained either in the store or out in the cafe either inside or its outdoor patio. Slow enough the Addie could leave the bookstore side of the store to come check in on her niece over in the cafe. She’d hired on as the new cafe manager and it was only her third or was it her forth day now? And Addie of course couldn’t stop herself from being a bit of a mother hen with her niece. Besides today was an exciting day. Sabine had added a new tea to the menu. And today had been its debut. Good thing Addeline knew her customers, because they luckily didn’t run out, but almost. It would require some shopping after the shope was closed but that was still a ways off.
Addie would wipe her brow with the back of her hand, and would smile at her niece nodding at her. ‘The new apron suits you perfectly.’ She smiled at Sabine, leaning back against the table that held the coffee machines. She’d glance around it looked like some of the new pastries had been a hit as well. Over all it appeared to have been a busy day on Sabines side of the shope.
‘Whoo… what a day, and so hot…’ she fanned herself a little bit, her face a little flushed. ‘How are things Sabine? Are they keeping you on your toes at least?’ She’d smile and survey the remaining patrons in the cafe, thre were still 4 or 5 of them out on the patio. She could see one by themselves their back to them, but she could see a hint of dark hair. And for a moment Addie would flash back to the reading that she’d done for Sabine several days earlier. She’d shake her head. The likelihood of the card happening as she saw it was completely unlikely. And she would say nothing to Sabine. It was her fate and her path. She would cross paths with the person she was supposed to when she was supposed to. And even the cards couldn’t tell what would happen until the meeting had or hadn’t occurred as it was meant to.
She’d glance at her watch, they still had an hour before they were closing. But Addie liked to give her patrons a 30 and then 15 warnings of when they were closing, to give the procrasitnators time to force themselves out of their time blindness. She’d smile at her niece. ‘Say in half an hour…maybe you or charlotte can let the cafe guests know we’ll be closing in 30 and start bussing any tables that gues didn’t bus themselves…’ She’d tilt her head reaching over to touch her nieces arm. ‘Are you happy here?’
