Aly asked Ilimetha how things with 'that' were going a long and the Drowess would just turn to the other with a wide grin. She didn't even have to say it, her typical answer to Aly always being "You know Matron Barra'jusron." Only she didn't. Aly had never met this infamous woman that Ilimetha worked for, though she likely would have met the Matron's young son, Z'ress, at least once before this night. The commotion and Zeddy appearing would prevent her from responding at all anyway.
Aly would fix the kid's pants and comment again about her having her hands full and Ilimetha would just chuckle, motioning to the hooded young half-Drow in an exasperated manner and talking as if Z'ress weren't there.
"The kid is spoiled rotten. I know he's a Matron's Son and all but that's still so uncommon for a male. But I suppose he can't help it. Seeing as he blows off most of his fancy tutors to come follow me around."
A look of clear, false surprise would cross over her features as she looked at her associate.
"Do. Do you think it's me? Do you think I'm the bad influence?"
She'd laugh a bit at herself before finishing off her on the house expensive label before sliding the empty glass over towards the back of the bar. Reginald was busy re-cleaning the floor at the moment but she trusted she'd get her usual after drink, drink.
"Nah. He's a good kid. Quick as a whip. Most times."
She'd look back to Z'ress, pushing the empty barstool that sat on the other side of her over his direction with a wink. He would know most of the stuff she said would be in jest. She'd turn back to Aly.
"So. How's tricks?" A word she had used not only to refer to Aly's profession but also her proficiency in magic. Something Ilimetha herself was quite inept at.

The very second the duergar bartender set the glass down on the opposite side of the bar, the tiefling goblin teleported in. He grabbed the glass and gulped its contents, spilling a little out due to the size of the mug.
"Hmph. Use less lemon zest next time, Reggie. Alright, alright I'll call us square - for now." he sat the glass down and blew out the black candle.
"So, Reggie, where have those lovely Drow ladies gotten off to? Or where you too busy spit-shining the beer mugs to notice?"
He sat up and glanced around for his potential employer(s). He was feeling pretty good, but his mind was churning with ideas. He momentarily caught a glance at the bar ledger out of the corner of his eye. Bor'Nerty's strange, squinty eyes suddenly seemed large and dilated. "I have a tab? ..Oh my dear sweet Beelzebub, can it be?"
If he could have cried, he would have.
"If that is the open tab of who I think it is, I'll do the job for free."

Aly listened as Ilimetha spoke about Z'ress. She'd nod a bit. She didn't blame the kids for blowing off the fancy tutors. That sounded like it would be a terrible way to spend time.
Aly was amused as the look of false surprise crossed her friend's face. A playful smirk would formed when Ilimetha questioned of she was the bad influence.
"Yes," she would laugh and tip her glass towards her friend before taking a sip.
Internally she questioned the quick as a whip comment given the pants incident that had just occurred. Mistakes were common when learning magic so maybe that's all it was - him learning new magic.
Aly would roll her shoulders when Ilimetha asked about tricks.
"Lucrative," Aly would flash a grin. She brought in plenty by working at Saranae's Bosom. But using magic to gain some additional funds allowed her to cushion her pockets a bit more.

Ilimetha's grin widened all the more at Aly. She'd lean herself against the bar, rapping her nails gently against the surface as she watched the Drowess. Aly could be as dangerous as she was beautiful. Not to mention clever, stubborn, and maybe a touch egotistical. It all added up to her brilliance in her eyes. So if Aly was saying she had found success in her profession then Ilimetha would believe it.
"Making money hand over fist eh? It sounds very exciting. Perhaps you are due for a little change of scenery? Maybe somewhere warmer than here? Maybe somewhere colder? I find myself likely needing to get out of the city myself."
She'd continue with her wide grin, despite her gaze looking past Aly for a moment to spy a returned Bor'Nerty. A single snowy brow would arch upwards as she glanced at the ledger held in Reginald's hands. She didn't understand why he seemed so excited, she didn't pay off that much of his tab.
"Oi! Ner-tay! Took care of your drink. Least you can do is come say hello."

Reggie would be drawn from his gawking by the sound of Bor'nerty's voice. A smug grin would split the dwarf's lips. At least the gobbie had a decent palate. Raising his chin towards Ilimetha and Aly, he indicated in silent response where the women were in response to the question. The dwarf sniffed in fake offense at the notion he would use spit to clean the glasses. The Boss had standards. A slight smile creased his lips, however, at Bor's demeanor. He was at least interesting. Most of the slob-knockers around here were useless dregs that came to drink until they didn't know their own names and didn't even have a repartee game.
The hair on the dwarf's arms began to tingle and stand on edge. He blinked twice, then quickly reached over to a bell rope hanging towards the back of the bar and pulled it in a quick, sharp *Clang*, then sunk slowly beneath the bar. Outside the drunken dwarf there was the horn of the local street wardens, and a commotion of shutters being shut hurredly and people ostensibly running for cover. A series of large crackles could be heard and some random screams. The front shutters of the bar were split as a charred and bleeding corpse of an unfortunate gully dwarf blew through, landing with a squish and a squeaky slide. A few seconds later a half-pint gnome with sandy brown hair and a dead eye pushed through, covered in black ichor and what looked to be umberhulk guts. Pulling a hunk of lower intestine out of her hair between finger and thumb, she was muttering below her breath.
"Why can't the damn clients ever give all the information? Sure, Niwyn, it's a simple job...just a priestess in a small temple! Easy pickings! Sure...don't mention the TRAP DOOR AND THE GIANT AMBULATORY BEETLE BRAINS!! Selune almighty! Pfft...I'm going to have to charge double! REGGIE! Clean this mess up! We have STANDARDS!!"
The little gnome would finally look up and peer about, a beaming grin splitting her lips as she saw the crowd present.
"Me-me! How you doin' girl! Aly! Damn girl, you don't get any harder on the eyes! Z'ress....why are your jiggly bits out? Nine hells, don't answer that, I prolly don't want to know! And....And...Bor'Nerty?!?!? You gully-dwarf humping, aboleth kissing piece of Minotaur schite! When are you going to get around to paying that tab of yours? Bah, I don't care...something must be a'foot if you were summoned, and I suppose you're good for it. I swear, if Me-me didn't like you I'd frickisee you like Terran chicken!"
She would reach up, wiping her little hand on his cheek to spread some of the ichor on it playfully and offer him a wink. She often feigned that she didn't care for the half breed, but as a half breed herself she actually didn't mind him. His antics at least made him more interesting than most of the stodgy reprobates she typically had to deal with. Moving towards the back, she waved at the crew.
"I'll be with you in a bit, I need a bath somethin' fierce, especially if I'm going to wind up blowin' my haul on Aly later!!"
She sent a playful grin at Aly, then pressed through the doors that were marked "Private" in at least 5 dialects above. Reggie would shuffle from behind the bar to drag the still smoking corpse out the front door. Patting it down before dumping it in the sewer gutter, he found a single gold coin. Biting it, he nodded. Entering back in, he flipped it to Bor'Nerty. He knew the goblin wouldn't have corpse leavings scruples. Dragging out the mop bucket once more, he shook his head. It was getting to be a tiring night and it had only just begun.

*BAHMF*
Bor'Nerty teleported to the adjacent barstool of Ilimetha. "Why hello! I tried to come by earlier, but somebody mistook me for a damn piñata,... but, uh never mind, that's a Terran thing."
The goblin got comfortable, and took another sip of his oversized drink. He had drank enough of it where it did not spill when tipped. As he leaned on the bar, he realized this would have been far easier with a straw of some kind.
He took note of his favorite bar owner's entrance, smirking when he recognized the gully dwarf corpse that had likely given his last bit of bad intel. He casually spoke under his breath for a moment and took another sip. "Sleg, you dumb sunavabitch."
The infernal goblin shouted towards Niwyn. "Hey, I don't think I'd taste like chicken, but who is to say, I'm still probably delicious? Ew... yeah, so... it sounded better in my head. Anyway. You know I'm good for it, Winnie!"
He turned back to Ilimetha with a slightly sheepish look that slowly became a fanged smile.
"Don't mind me, I've been drinking! Illi, baby, I figure you must have a job for me. Nobody summons me by accident, so someone or something needed me here? Otherwise, I'm just out for a night. Am I warm? Ah!-"
Bor' Nerty suddenly spasmed. A couple of flames shot out of his nose. He sipped the drink again, and relaxed.
"I was holding back a sneeze. Sorry about that. As I was sayin'..."
His pointed ear twitched three times.
About the moment the gold coin was tossed by Reggie, he teleported, grasped it in mid air and licked it, and then teleported back within a second like nothing had happened.

"If I'm right, let's talk about it after we catch up. I'd be delighted to know what you've been up to for the last twenty- or-so years."

Z'ress' cheeks flushed under his hood, he bowed his head slightly and took up the stool, a bit embarrassed. Ilimetha's associate was very pretty. Not something he wasn't used to, the underdark was chock full of beautiful women and matrons. This one though, she looked dangerous. Just like the company Ilimetha liked to keep.
And then Niwyn strolled in, mentioning giggly bits. He looked down at his crotch and noted an area that was immaculately clean and newer looking... He arched a snowy white eyebrow and closed his legs a bit more and shuffled his cloak a bit.

The tip of Ilimetha's tapered ear would twitch just slightly from the electricity in the air, a chuckle sliding past full lips as she turned towards the door to await the entrance. Niwyn would not disappoint. Her girl never did.
The gully dwarf landed with a squish and slid nearly to the bar where they all stood. Illimetha would wince and just shake her head. Poor pitiful bastard. Should've known better than to try and pull one over on the gnome.
Eyes the color of raw amber would look up as Niwyn walked in. She'd smile as she greeted everyone, twiddling her fingers playfully in the air until her friend dismissed herself to go get cleaned up. The Drowess would just sigh and shake her head.
There were days where she wished she had the ability to do something... anything with the weave. She couldn't even levitate or produce fairy fire, the most basic level spells for any Drow. Its what got her tossed out at a young age, avoiding the slave pits only by her wit and athleticism alone. What it would be like to just wave your hand and fry someone from a distance she was certain would be an amazing feeling. She could only imagine it is what fueled the insane egos of Priestesses of Lolth. Needing to stay on their Goddess' good side to feel that rush of power. She got nothing. But there was something innately satisfying about the feel of driving her blade between their ribs and feeling their pulse as it weakens through the metal. So there was that.
Nerty poofed back to the chair and she'd turn back to grin at him.
"Twenty or so years?? It hasn't been that long. Or are you still confusing me with this other Drowess you keep talking about? What was her name again? Xalae?"
She chuckled, leaning against the bar. Maybe it hadn't been 20 years but it had been a while since she encountered the infernal. It had been awhile since she encountered Aly too. Maybe a little catch up was in order.
"Can't say much. Keeping myself busy of course. House Barra'jusron keeps me busy mostly. I've done a little of everything. Bill collector. Delivery. Acquisitions. Whatever is needed to keep trade flowing. Lately I've been trying to give young Master Z'ress here some real world training with situations he might encounter should he be given more responsibility over the Matron's business."

Aly watched in amusement as Niwyn entered. She'd smile at her greeting and tip her glass as a thank you.
"You, my dear, are much to kind."
She'd take a sip and hold the glass carefully. Given the events so far she didn't trust it would survive much longer if she put it back on the bar. And that would be a tragedy. She gave Niwyn a smile as she cracked about spending money on her later. Her smile would widen a bit.
"Absolutely all of it. You know I'm not cheap."
Aly gave her a wink and took another sip of her drink. She'd shake her head when Nerty sneezed and the flames came out. There never was a dull moment at The Drunken Dwarf and tonight was not disappointing. She smirked to herself. That was when she caught Z'ress looking rather embarrassed. Her smirk shifted to a charming smile and she'd wave her fingers at him. Her attention would turn to Ilimetha as she gave an update.
"That sounds dreadfully boring. Not the trying to get Z'ress some real life experience -," she'd give Z'ress a finger wave again with another charming smile. It was just too easy to embarrass the kid and she was certainly having fun making him blush. "- just all the other parts of that." She'd turn her attention back to Ilimetha. "It's never too late to come to the dark side." She'd give her a grin that was wicked and playful at the same time. Aly always teased her about joining her at Saranae's. She'd suck down the rest of her drink. Flagging down Reggie for another drink she'd set the empty glass back on the bar.

Ilimetha turned to look at Aly. She'd ignore the fact Aly just implied that her side jobs were boring, seeing as she didn't read more into her initial statements. She'd only offer her friend a wide smile.
"Me? Do what you do?" She'd bring her finger up to her lips, pressing them in mock thought before laughing.
"Naaaah. I couldn't do it. Not as fun when you don't have to chase the pretty ones down."
Not that Ilimetha usually had trouble in that department. The tattooed Drowess had a body like a work of art, finely sculpted and toned from years of quick combat and evasive maneuvers. And she did like the pretty ones that posed a challenge.
"But anyways. It's actually acquisitions that brings Z'ress and I down here. Maybe I could lure you to the dark side. If you think you could handle it."
It would be Ilimetha's turn for a wicked grin, sliding sly eyes in her friend's direction.

Maybe boring wasn't the right word to describe what Ili did but it was the first one that came to mind. Aly just enjoyed what she did and there wasn't much else that ever caught her interest. She'd smirk as her friend pretended to think about coming to work at Saranae's. Aly just chuckled at her response. It was her turn to contemplate and she'd take a sip of her drink before responding.
"Maybe not. But the pretty ones pay well."
Her lips would curl into a smile again. A brow perked as Ilimetha made a comment about luring her to the dark side. This could be interesting.
"I can handle anything," she'd grin. "I suppose if the offer was good enough I could be convinced.."
A playful grin formed. Aly rarely turned down ab opportunity, especially if it had the potential to be lucrative.

Bor' Nerty smirked. "No, its not that, Illimetha. I just guesstimated. I know the difference. Xalae got me out of quite a few spots back when I was out in the field, doing the devil's work. The point is, it's been forever, babe."
He shook his head and dismissed it, while listening to Ilimetha, ... "I've done a little of everything. Bill collector. Delivery. Acquisitions. Whatever is needed to keep trade flowing. Lately I've been trying to give young Master Z'ress here some real world training with situations he might encounter should he be given more responsibility over the Matron's business."
He giggled wickedly. "Well, that's exactly the same as me, wouldn't ya know? Well, basically. Extortion. Mail Fraud. Grand Larceny. Whatever is needed to keep black market trade flowing. " he wiggled his long eyebrows, finding this highly amusing. He reserved himself a few seconds later.
"You got a mister, or misus, Illi? Kids? Just curious."
He only slightly nodded as Aly'Dra paid attention to him. He wasn't used to that. Most detected him only when he wanted them to. He shrugged and listened in... politely smiling with that toothy grin as best as he could. He noted things were starting to get a little flirty, and he liked it.
~~~A few moments later~~~
As Bor'Nerty drank more, he began to catch the attention of the Duergar, who had heard his loud slurping. "Say, ya know what ladies, before we get down to business, I could use a bite..." He turned to the barkeep. "Excuse me, Reggie, buddy, you got something to gnaw on? I'm feeling a tad peckish."
His tiny goblin belly growled. "Oh man, ... a burrito would be nice. But not from here, maybe. I'm guessing mutton, mushrooms and chives only goes so far in making street food."
He mused to himself, staring into his dark black drink. "Ya know, Ched Nasad doesn't offer much else as far as seasoning goes, unless management made a recent trip to the black market... Perhaps Winnie could use a few exotic spices?" He squinted and smiled a little, only slightly evilly. The tiefling's tail wiggled and waved excitedly. His eyes shot back up to Reggie, who reluctantly waited with a quill and a ratty piece of parchment paper that had been in his apron.
"Or not. I guess I'll take the special."
Reggie would make rounds, tending to the other patrons, filling their tankards with the foulest of swill. He'd find a clean rag, then, wiping down the bar to a shine as the beautiful women spoke to each other and Bor'Nerty. Niwyn would be lightly heard humming some old tune she always sang when she took a bath. Something about a duck and having any grapes. She was odd, but he'd always accepted it. He would refill Ilimetha and Aly'dra's glasses with finer spirits, then poured a butterscotch sarsaparilla for Z'ress. Niwyn had brought the strange bottle back with her from one of her many jaunts to places unknown. The last time he'd sent Z'ress home intoxicated, Ema'laeth attempted to hire Niwyn to kill him. He had to hide out for an entire cycle before Niwyn could convince her friend not to kill her own bartender.
Staring at Nerty, he caught the mischievous look in his eye. As he started to speak of food. Drawing out a parchment and quill, he listened intently at the tiefling goblin rattled through his cravings. He'd shake his head slightly at the mentions of the food, indicating they were unavailable. As he came to his final offering, the dwarf swallowed hard. Niwyn had cut part of his tongue off, which is why he never spoke. However, it wasn't that he couldn't talk, it was just that he had to speak slowly and could only manage a few words. Looking to 'Nerty, he struggled with the question to the creature.
"Sp..sp..Special? Club...Sandwich?"
"My company isn't appealing enough for you Aly? Maybe I can sweeten the deal."
Ilimetha chuckled lightly, looking to Bor'Nerty as he inquired about her personal life. Brows would knit in confused but amused expression at the sudden interest. It seemed... genuine? Maybe. She couldn't really tell and while she had interacted with Nerty several times before, no one in the Underdark was ever truly genuine or cared about stuff like that.
"Yeah. No. I don't play house. Closest thing I have to an offspring isn't mine. No reason to try and have on either. Not like I've got a house to run or some kind of power base to strengthen. Gods only know I wouldn't have the coin for a slave to care for it."
She had motioned towards Z'ress when mentioning he was like a kid to her but shutter at the thought of having her own, despite her memories flashing back to a time she would've actually considered binding herself like that. Life in the underdark always came back to remind you how foolish things like that were.
"Nah I'm good where I'm at...."
She couldn't help herself. Amber hued eyes would turn to Aly and light up with a mischievous grin. She'd reach out and lightly brush her knuckles down the impossibly smooth skin of her bare arm. Ilimetha hoped she could convince Aly to join them. The entertainment value alone would make it oh so worth it, besides the fact the Drowess was also an accomplished mage.
She'd turn back to the bar then, grabbing up her glass with memories of past times spent with Aly swirling in her brain and taking a good long drink. Those thoughts would be interrupted as Reggie actually spoke. It wasn't something she had heard him do often. Usually it was important... but what the hell was a club sandwich?
Aly’s ear twitched slightly as Ili talked about sweetening the deal. She’d tap her finger against her chin lightly in mock thought as Reggie refilled their drinks.
“Hm. I think it depends on the offer but I haven’t said no….yet.”
Another wicked grin formed and she took a sip of her freshly refilled drink. Aly listened as Ilimetha responded to Nerty’s question. She chuckled a bit trying to picture Ilimetha as a mother. It was something she couldn’t imagine, at least at this point in time. But she also seemed to have her hands full with Z’ress.
Her eyes would meet Ilimetha’s and she’d perk a brow. A smile would form at her touch and it would shift into a slightly seductive smile. Aly certainly enjoyed Ilimetha’s company and it certainly made the proposition more enticing. She looked into her drink before taking a sip. Her own mind replaying memories of past times they spent together. Aly looked into her drink before taking a long pull. She considered Ilimetha’s words again.
“As long as it doesn't interfere with my work at Saranae's, AND you make good on your offer of sweetening the deal, I’m in.” Aly gave her a wicked grin. “So, what exactly am I getting myself into?”
She smirked a bit. Her attention was drawn back to behind the bar when Reggie spoke. It wasn’t a common occurrence so she knew she wasn’t the only one nothing the occasion.
